"Haters, non-believers and simpletons are a part of life. But they should not be part of your team. In fact, no world-changing effort ever includes a detractor as a member of the group. The winning team is possessed by a spirit of certainty. Every member believes in the cause they represent to the point that they often think of themselves as being on a divine mission. This is the spirit of egbe, the heavenly cohort. When a group of people share an affinity for something - a study group, a religious practice, a sports team, a political cause, building a school, or even making music together - and that affinity is so clear and strong that they consider it irresistible, they must protect the sanctity of that spirit and allow it to guide them to a higher level of consciousness. Part of that process is eliminating the presence of detractors. A detractor is not a critic. A detractor is a doubter. A detractor is not outspoken. A detractor is confrontational. A detractor is not competitive. A detractor is narcissistic. When you identify them in your group remove them without hesitation and let them participate from the periphery, if necessary. That way, you can be free to focus upon the practice that brought you together and not fighting internal conflicts. This is a necessary aspect of living the medicine. "
