TESTIMONIALS
I Feel The Change, Within Myself
I remember a class where baba said we wouldn’t be able to say "Baba Obafemi gave us the incantation to raise the dead." He mentioned a couple other “magical” things that he wouldn’t be giving us also in the context of he teaches the fundamentals. He also posed a very good question of ‘do we really need those chants’? For the people we’re destined to serve do we really need the ase to be invisible? If you don’t know by now let me be the one to tell you baba is extremely modest.
I can say from experience the ese, oriki, orin and ijuba we chant are POWERFUL LIFE CHANGING ENERGIES/VIBRATIONS. I can FEEL a change in myself. Not a philosophical change, no I’m not hugging trees and smiling all the time, not a ‘I’m the zen master’ change, and I can’t levitate things in a room either. I’m talking a palatable, active change that I can’t put into words (and doubt I would if I could).
Because I’m sure what I’m experiencing will be different for each individual (I apologize for my comments above if your change has you hugging trees ) and I don’t want you to miss your blessing thinking it will show up looking like mine did. I’m just sharing my experience and letting you know the training works if you work. Daily prayers, making ose, learning the chants, following the advisories and observances of the itadogun. Also, please don't let not knowing definitions for all the yoruba words stop you from doing the work. You’ll understand them in time and at our level I don’t think it’s super important.
The chants to me are like binaural beats. It’s more the frequency and resonance than the literal word because everything isn’t a 1:1 translation. For instance Olodumare isn’t god it’s Olodumare. We’re on a journey that I believe is a different kind of knowing than what we’re accustomed to. We’re not information gathering but building skill. You can know all about parabolas and every stat for every player in the NBA but if you haven’t put the work in to be a skilled player your gonna get dusted by Lebron James! I’m grateful for you all here with me ‘shootin in the gym’.
I pray Olodumare, Ori, Orisa, Egbe, and Ancestors support us.

As My Dreams Change
I was searching for a better understanding of dreams, what they mean and the role that they have in my life. I enrolled in your class because my dreams have changed in ways that I don’t yet understand. I learned that my dreams are indeed a warning or message to me about things occurring or that will take place in my life. They are messages and spiritual downloads whether I realize it or not. Baba Obafemi is easy to understand and speaks with such precision. Things are broken down to a level that is understandable for all.

Dreaming is Natural!
I was looking for a better understanding of dreams and why they happen. I chose to take the class in order to gain knowledge on dreaming and what that means for me personally. In the class, we went over the duality of dreams; how some dreams are initiatory, some dreams are mundane and some are big dreams that could not only help you but the community you reside in. One thing I learned was that dreaming is something that should be apart of your life always.

In Search of Wisdom & Knowledge
I was seeking wisdom and knowledge. I was referred to the class by Dr. Shakir. In the class, we discussed and were taught dream education. I did not know that you can research your dream while you’re dreaming. Baba was very knowledgeable. He has clearly had a lot of time researching and learning dream related information. This class was so good because of the amount information I was given. Thank you so much for taking your time to provide this data to us.

Informative, as Expected
I was looking for clarity and assurance. I have always been asked to interpret others dreams, but lately my own dreams have become all consuming. In the class, we were informed on the different types of dreams. One thing I took away from the class was that an increased desire for more information. I need to read more on the subject. Most my dream books are good but I want clarity for the African mind. Oloye Origunwa was informative as expected.

Passion for Learning
I was in pursuit of a detailed description of the course including student learning outcomes. I was motivated by Baba's recent message on the topic of passion; I am attempting to reunite with my own passion for learning. The class introduced the academic/theological pedigree of the instructors and the purpose of the course. One thing that I appreciated about the class was that blocking my dreams has stopped the night terrors but has also inhibited clear reception of Ancestral dream messages.

Orisa Dreams
I wanted information on dream interpretation. It was being taught by someone whose work I am familiar with and trust at an affordable price. I loved learning how there are two possible reasons an Orisa appears in your dream; 1. to remind you of your prenatal commitment, or 2. They were sent to deliver a message. It does not mean that particular Orisa is your head.

Journey of Spiritual Awakening
My search was a continuation of my spiritual awakening that started in theological seminary. I wanted to know more about my ancestors' relationship with the divine prior to their indoctrination into Christianity. I searched online for teachers and found Obafemi. I wanted someone who was geographically close to where I live. I was struck by his ability to use plain language and real life applications for his lessons. I decided to work with him after viewing several of his videos, and observing him at the shrine in Oakland. I've attended Ose Ifa, Atunse, Itadogun, Nigeria retreat 2017, had readings, telephone conversations, and enrolled in some of his classes. Nigeria Retreat 2017 was a significant event because it included my initiation into Egungun. It was a cultural immersion for me that endeared me to the African continent and its people. It provided clarity and structure for me to move forward in my spiritual journey. Therefore, the single biggest impact of the work I have done with Obafemi has been the realization that I can join the movement to make a significant contribution to the preservation and cultivation of Ifa Orisa Lifestyle in North America. The one thing that makes Obafemi unique and special is his gift of teaching. I have observed him teach multiple personalities in a variety of settings and each time he conveys a genuine concern for everyone in the room.

Spiritual Path to Financial Growth
Aboru Aboye Abosise, Greetings Obafemi Origunwa, this brief email is a follow up of the short consultation a few months back known as Master Your Destiny. At the time immediately prior to the consultation, I didn't know exactly what areas of my life were most important to address. However after examining certain areas in my life it was evident that there was somewhat of a lapse in pursuing better financial stability. I shared goals of marriage, Having children, initiation, home ownership etc. Yet my financial situation at the time did not seem to support these goals as much as I wanted it to. In contemplation after the reading it became clear that somethings had to change. After continuing to work with my Oluwo making proper changes indicated, Ive managed to increase my earnings, acquire an apt, and to be in a better position to save and keep moving forward. Yet the way things have unfolded have all been evident of their being nothing short of Divine intervention. Its been a blessing continually. And this letter is in gratitude not only in how you have helped me, but how you and others of the tradition relentless seem to help so many others. And homage to the ones before you as well. Counselor, Teacher, and Babalawo
Although I have been in deep self-reflection and study of Ifa, I still have had questions concerning my track in life. "Am I really doing what I am supposed to be doing?" was my main question and why I sought divination with Obafemi Origunwa. The past year I found Obafemi and his excellent work & teachings through ooradio.com and took the Fundamentals 1A class on Orisa Lifestyle. I decided to work with Obafemi based on his teaching in class, reviews, and frequent posts on facebook and because he is also trained in Multicultural Couseling (and that training shows during the session). Together, Obafemi and I looked at my current work situation and figured out ways for me to be the best that I can be to all the people around me. The biggest impact of my work with Obafemi was learning that my perspective influences how deep I am willing to go and how I will react to the low tides and high tides in my life. It was also confirmed that this time was a time for my craft and I had felt that way before coming to Obafemi. I was glad that it could be confirmed and that soon I will be acquiring the very luminous crown with which I came down from Heaven. Obafemi Origunwa will take the time to help you work through your fears and is counselor, teacher, and babalawo operating in all those areas simultaneously as he assists you. We thank Ifa!

Forever Grateful
I had been following Obafemi on Facebook since the early part of 2013 and his teachings resonate within me. I live in NY and have a Godparent who I love dearly and I was feeling the pull to return back to CA. I came to Ifa to confirm my plans and secure my blessings for the future. The reading from Baba Obafemi was insightful in his delivery of the odu that spoke. I would agree with another review about feeling as though we were long lost friends. He heard not only what I said but what I meant and that's the skill of a trusted advisor, babalawo. He carefully helped to navigate me back to my own inner knowing ... and I will forever be grateful. I would definitely recommend anyone to Baba Obafemi because he manifests the best of what Ifa is. ACHEO.

Welcome Home!!
I decided Ifa is what I want to pursue, that Ifa basically was the answer to the spiritual void that I had. I needed answers and I needed confirmation, the burning question within me was "Who am I and why am I here?" I sought-out divination because I needed the truth. I tried other religions and came up lacking and wanting and never completely fulfilled. I tried other religions once I decided to embrace Ifa, and go further then I knew I needed a spiritual guide mentor teacher. I was lost and had been basically misguided or not embraced by those I trusted to impart knowledge and authenticity, and when I had had enough there he was. Obafemi was the answer that I needed. I decided to work with him because he wasn't selling anything or himself. He makes it very clear that we must commit to living a principled and ritualistic life if we are to live successfully. First of all we talked about why Ifa. We talked about his process of working with his clients. Personal development is where we began. Connecting with our own Ori, and our ancestors, learning the Ancestors and Oriki prayers. Divining to know what the ancestors required and receiving my Opa Iku. He trained me on how to feed my Ori, and gave instruction on preparing my ancestor shrine. Obafemi takes the time and patience to listen and learn about his clients. There is no single word, really; I am reconnected to my ancestors. Obafemi lives the medicine. He knows his purpose and he is here to serve humankind. He is patient and takes the time to listen to rather than preach to his clients. No one has ever said to me "Welcome Home"

My Natural Habits Now Make Sense to Me
...The next logical step for me in my spiritual growth. It also was the only choice I had. Nothing else seemed to fit. Nothing else felt so right. To neglect to consult Spirit at this point is to neglect any opportunity for purpose and meaning in my life. After nearly 47 years of trying to "figure it out", wandering through life making good decisions at times and bad decisions at others, I needed a way to connect to the only thing I know is sure: Spirit. The Christian church seems to promote a connection with Spirit on the surface, but it really only delivers a subscription to religion. On top of that, it's the religion of the oppressor. Ifa is of my own people. And it works. Baba Obafemi immediately spoke to my Spirit and my intellect the moment I saw one of his videos for the first time. He just made so much sense!! There was a complete absence of empty dogmatic rhetoric and instead there was a rich, colorful illustration of how to live. He seemed practical and accessible. Holistic. Contemporary. I picked up on his progressive ideas on a very old tradition. He was willing to work with a same-gender-loving couple (no small consideration for me) as who we are: human beings. Also, the fact that he is a professional counselor was icing on the cake. And I have to say--the person I saw on the videos is the same exact one I met in person. He's real. No pretense. We did the Opa Iku ritual, training and divination.
I no longer feel like a wandering soul trying to figure it out. My feet touch solid ground. I am not exaggerating when I say that the experience was one of the most profound moments in my life. I came away from it with a real, tangible, palpable sense that my life had officially been ordered, structured, defined. It's like walking around with blurred vision for decades and then putting on a pair of glasses--everything is now clear and well defined. My natural habits now make sense to me. Though I don't know what each step will bring, my overall path has been laid out in front of me. All I have to do is put one foot in front of the other and keep touching my hand to the ground. In this way I am on sure footing. I am grounded. I don't have to be afraid of the unknown. I can be comfortable in the uncertainty of the particulars. Obafemi is a teacher at heart and he is patient. He is genuinely concerned with seeing a transformation in the lives of those who have consulted with him. It's not about the money with him (though he deserves every penny he charges and them some). It's about service and fulfilling his own ancestral promise as he helps others.

A Higher Version of Myself
I have searched out IFA Divination/ATS to better learn my chosen ideal path that was carved out specifically for me. I found Baba Obafemi through the you-tube videos and his methods of teachings spoke to my spirit and mind. I instantly wanted to know more. I was thoroughly inspired to learn more about the IFA divinations and the Orisha lifestyle. From my first initial reading which was the moon ritual was very accurate and on point and has proven the sacrifice to be well worth the cost, time and travel I took to have it done. In this [more recent] visit I had the DAFA/ATS divination done... It all had a dynamic impact on life, but if I were to choose one it would have to be the new found change in my consciousness I've discovered. One thing that makes Baba Obafemi unique and special is he is real genuinely honest in his approach in helping an individual to live the higher version of themselves. I see him as not only my trusted adviser ,but as a mentor that I can learn a great deal of sound knowledge and wisdom from.

Inspired, Blessed & Empowered
I went for a reading because I hadn't been for several months. Olodumare has blessed me in many ways in a very short period of time. I am hoping to purchase a home that will be used to share the beauty and power of Ifa Orisha lifestyle with others in the Sacramento region. I asked if I ought to be looking to purchase a home, given that I have been unsuccessful doing so since January. I found Obafemi on the Internet and decided to work with him after studying his blog, web site, youtube videos and facilitation at Ose Ifa ceremonies. The single biggest impact of working with Obafemi is receiving spiritual guidance that is communicated in a caring, patient manner. Obafemi's understanding of the human psyche and his experience working with diverse personalities makes him unique. He freely shares his knowledge and understanding without condescension. Obafemi is an inspirational and a powerful gift to our community.

Lay your problems down, my child
I have wanted to come and receive a reading with my husband since I found out that - in Ifa -there was something to give us direction. I have had two prior readings with ObafemiO. Baba has proven that he is trustworthy. I have had nothing but positive change in my life since I began to seek to “Live the Medicine” of the Yoruba traditions/Ifa way of life. He has had very similar experiences in his marital status, and as my husband and I and I/we trusted that he would be the best person to advise us. I felt there would be no judgments with whatever was revealed, and I felt and feel Baba Obafemi will and would do his best to be a clear vessel to help to guide us to a healing space if we are willing to go.
Baba performed Ifa divination/ATS for us. One of the biggest impacts that I can recall at the moment is that when we sat before Baba Obafemi, I had brought all my journals to prove my points. I was ready for war. He consulted Ifa and then spoke volumes, mostly to me, I felt: All of it being true. We hadn’t said a word as to what we were dealing with; meaning the facts of why we were there. I have said it once and I will say it again, I know that he is doing what he does but I truly believe when the Orisha’s blessed him they gave him something special! I say “Thank you” to Ifa!
Baba Epega has been the only other Babalawo that I have worked with, listened to & respected his words like the father I have always wanted, in terms of the comfort of being able to share your thoughts with a complete stranger. When I met Baba Obafemi, his presence is one of which says, “Lay your problems down, my child.” LOL but true. Another is to have my husband sit before another man and to humble himself to open up and place “his stuff/our stuff” on the table. Baba Obafemi is has humbleness about him. He seems like your best friend, dad, brother, that uncle, grandfather that you can tell anything to. His words are not hurtful yet what he says is not always sweet. But you know what is coming out of his mouth is not from his but Ifa... because we hadn’t spoken to him so you can’t be mad at him.

Like Family
I wanted to gain a better understand of my destiny in life as well as solutions to many of the problems I have transpired throughout my life. I found ObafemiO by watching his You tube videos. I have watched all of the youtube videos, researched his career and have seen other people speak very highly of baba Obafemi before actually making the decision to work with him. We did Ifa Divination reading and the moon ritual. The moon ritual was very exhilarating and showed me power I have never seen before. One thing that makes ObafemiO unique and special is his humble spirit, attention to detail, the fact that he made me feel as though I was family.

Compassionate, Patient & Understanding
I searched for an Ifa priest who would be compassionate, patient, and understanding because I was advised by a different babalawo who could not explain well that I should trust Ifa, and never turn away from Ifa no matter what. I went in search on the internet for a babalawo but I had already been noticing on my facebook page that some of my friends had been following Obafemi Origunwa. I had been reading some of his writings that were linked to my page but it took a moment to realize that maybe he could help me. This is because he lives in CA and I in IL and I was looking for someone near by to help me perform my Ori ceremony.
After visiting one baba in NY and being rejected I called Obafemi a second time as I had called the day prior and got no answer. He answered this day and patiently gave me 30 minutes of his time answering my questions and explaining some things to me. This inspired me to work with him. I felt that he would be the one to give the help I am looking for. I arranged for a consultation with him the next day. During the consultation he was able to see some work that needed to be done for me. He also told me about my family's connection to a diety from Yoruba and what I should be doing in order to be in harmony with this Orisha as he is very close to me. I had never been told this before but was able to a bit of research about the this Orisha. This information seems to give me insight but surely there is so much more to learn, understand, and connections to be made.
This was my first time working with a priest who is (for lack of a better term) Black American as myself. This was good for me because I believe that it gives him a better insight and understanding of my challenges. I have worked plenty with priests who are in Africa and there is a totally different connection there. Possibly, for the language barrier but also maybe because they were not Ifa priests. It is my prayer the Babalawo Obafemi will continue to grow in his understanding of his role as I my own. I Thank the Orishas and my ancestors for all the blessings they bestow. I pray that my life will be placed in harmony.

The Client-Centered Priest
A problem arose for my daughter and I wanted to get deeper insight and solution to it. I heard Obafemi on a radio program. To me, he has established himself as a babalawo and a philosopher. We performed Dafa for my daughter. The way he handles Dafa, his overall interaction with the client allows the client to be more engaged in the process. He definitely sets a model for future Babalawos like myself.
