Conquering Couple
Being in this relationship for little over a year, working on issues both big and small together, attempting to educate as well as learn is not always easy. I admit that my resolve was starting to become tired, and impatient with the progression toward marriage, I also had questions if this union was going to produce the things I envision most for my and our lives together. As an Olorisa with a working knowledge of IFA, seeking guidance from IFA is vital to my ability to thrive and prosper as a practitioner. With regard to “why” IFA’s guidance is needed at this time is due to challenges within my relationship with my fiancé. Challenges in the form of - stagnation, prosperity, and external interference. I contacted Awo Obafemi via facebook, but have observed his work and progression with IFA for many years. I have also come to hear my elders speak very highly of his work as well. After careful thought, prayer, and sanction from Yemoja /Olokun, I moved forward with seeking out Obafemi.. My observation of his approach to Ifa, and his ability to teach and offer a healthy approach to the practice impressed me immensely. His position on the importance of integrating culture, mental health, and self-examination for today’s contemporary times opened a portal of new thinking. A fresh and innovative approach that weighed heavy on my spirit, and ase for some time. The decision to heed the call for an awo – that would honor and respect my need for confidentiality – considering my lineage is paramount. A first step towards seeking out an Awo that would cultivate a separate and independent spiritual journey within my priesthood. A like-minded Awo. My fiancé and I find it extremely important to seek guidance – paying close attention to the need for balance and togetherness, as we continue on our path towards marriage. Given our life stage – (approaching fifty) we cannot afford to approach our individual as well as collective destinies without guidance from Ifa. We decided together that we needed to understand and apply ifa’s guidance as we move forward. For me, I would have to say that Ose Meji spoke volumes to my life journey to date – as well as my needs and desires. The odu affirmed my worries and wishes for the future for me – and I am grateful to be heard by Ifa. I find the biggest impact to be- validation of my life’s jpurney, and as a second generation practitioner, my faith has been renewed and fortified..Ifa gba wa o. Obafemi appears to have a solid handle of the plight of the human existence as it pertains to the condition of the tradition, today, and the evolution that needs to take place for tomorrow. A Higher Level
I went seeking your services because I had a reading done by Baba Epega and it was so real and powerful. Once he passed to the next realm of life, I thought "That's it for me and Ifa", because I hadn’t came across anyone who was strong, positive, and humble. It began to change my negatives to positives immediately. Ifa/Yoruba gave me a spiritual guidance that I hadn’t found in Christianity or any other religion. It was true and extremely real to me and for me.

I understand that it takes a lot of energy, time and spirit to do what you do. I understand that people want what we want and we want it NOW and we expect you to be a miracle worker. Through this process I have realized my strengths, I give ultimate thanks to Ifa but to you as well for being a vessel and guide in the process. I feel like there are a lot of men and babalowos but they aren’t doing what you are doing for people. I am not putting you on a pedestal, but at the same time I am placing you, in my opinion, on a different shelf than the rest. I want you to know that when I came to see you the day of my ebo, I said to the sacrificial rooster that I would complete this. I explained to the rooster that his life would not be in vain. I meant it and I think you are a great person to work with and the community is blessed to have you. I don’t want to only receive and walk away. I want to give back to you by expressing my praise for what you/Ifa has done for me and my life. I want to and try to absorb all that Ifa tells me to do, big or small, and I try to complete each task with an open mind and heart.

I searched for Ifa divination because I believed that initiation is for me and to find answers to personal questions. I found ObafemiO on Facebook. I decided to work with ObafemiO based on the way his spirit resonated with mine while watching him on Facebook. There were many priests online. However, ObafemiO's video felt inviting and familiar. I also liked the fact that he is a counselor and a Babalawo. Baba ObafemiO gave me a divination (I was very impressed that he was on time even though we live in different time zones) and he moved me to think deeper about why I want the things that I desire.
I loved the way he explained in detail and with patience the culture and spirit of the Ifa African Healing System; he really left me wanting for nothing. I learned a lot and I felt satisfied. The single biggest impact of the work that I did with ObafemiO was I felt safe to speak candidly and honestly and I did not feel judged or rushed . He was honest with me where I needed it without being condescending or harsh. I felt like he cared and that we connected. He's funny too. I went in search of IFA divination due to my arrival at a significant crossroads in my life and know that these are the times when Ifa's guidance is most requisite. I wanted to know the right moves to make in my life. I found Baba through Spoonit.com and have connected with him and his family. I had a strong connection to the writings and teachings of Baba Obafemi and remember feeling his the wisdom in his presence. I felt he would be a good relatable person to receive Dafa from. We definitely uncovered some thinly veiled internal conflicts that were causing and contributing to the incredible life blocks I have been experiencing. I felt very illuminated in the simplicity of the revelations made. The work is unfolding for me and what stands out for me the most is the clean simplicity of it. I have a tendency to create drama where it isn't really necessary and Baba laid everything out in a very matter of fact way that made it practical and graspable for me in the overwhelmed state I have been in for a while.
