You imprint one leg of Irete
I also imprint one leg of Irete
When the imprint becomes two, then the true IreteMeji is formed
This was the message of Ifa to He-Who-Has-Favorable-Ori-But-Lacks-Good-Legs
He was advised to offer sacrifice
He complied
My ikin, Erigi Alo
Ifa, please let me have good Ori
And good legs to complement it

The travelers in front who you could not keep up with
Those behind who you refused to wait for
If one cannot catch up to those in front
One needs to wait for those behind
These were Ifa's declarations to Obaluaiye
When coming from heaven to earth
He was advised to offer sacrifice
The travelers in front who you could not keep up with
Those behind who you refused to wait for
If one cannot catch up to those in front
One needs to wait for those behind
These were Ifa's declarations to Esu Odara
When coming from heaven to earth
He was advised to offer sacrifice
The travelers in front who you could not keep up with
Those behind who you refused to wait for
If one cannot catch up to those in front
One needs to wait for those behind
These were Ifa's declarations to Iyami Osoronga
When coming from heaven to earth
She was advised to offer sacrifice
The travelers in front who you could not keep up with
Those behind who you refused to wait for
If one cannot catch up to those in front
One needs to wait for those behind
These were Ifa's declarations to Orunmila
When coming from heaven to earth
He was advised to offer sacrifice
Only Orunmila complied with the advice of the babalawo
When they got to the earth
Only Orunmila was living in comfort
The other three conspired
And planned to ruin all he had in life
He was advised to offer sacrifice
He was told that it was the evil plans of his siblings
He complied by offering the sacrifice
Now, all the money I have belongs to you
All my money belongs to you
Baba Olode o!
Is it because I am rich that you are angry?
All my money belongs to you
All the wives I have belong to you
All my wives belong to you
Laalu o!
Is it because of my wives that you are angry?
All my wives belong to you
All the children belong to you
All my children belong to you
Iya o!
Is it because of my children that you are angry?
All my children belong to you
Now, Sonponna, take okete
Do not take human life
All my money belongs to you
Baba Olode, please take okete
Do not take human life
All y money belongs to you
Esu, please take okete
Do not take human life
All my wives belong to you
Laalu, please take okete
And spare human life
All my wives belong to you
Iyami, please take okete
Do not take human life
All the children I have belong to you
Osoronga, please take okete
and spare human life
All my children belong to you

Even a wise man cannot tie water into a knot with cloth
Even an erudite cannot know the number of grains of sand on the ground
No traveller can reach the end of the roads
The tree climber cannot climb beyond the leaves
These were Ifa's declarations to Orunmila
When completing Ifa's assignment in the land of Aanu, compassion
He was advised to offer sacrifice
He complied
Before long, all blessings of life came in abundance
It is money that I needed but lacked
Please have compassion for me
I also need a spouse
Please have compassion for me
Fellow human beings, please have compassion for me
I also lacked children
Please have compassion for me
Fellow human beings, please have compassion for me
I also needed a home of my own
Please have compassion for me
Fellow human beings, please have compassion for me
I need all the blessings of life
Please have compassion for me
Fellow human beings, please have compassion for me

The was the message to the Oba
Who would give birth to Oro
He was advised to offer sacrifice
He complied
Before long
Join us in the midst of all blessings
What turns Ika into two?
A good awo
Was responsible for us to get Ika Meji

A head afflicted with bad luck does not protrude
The footprints of a a madman are not distinguishable on the road
It is impossible to know the head of someone who shall become a title-holder in the crowd
These were Ifa's declarations to Mobowu, wife of Ogun
When they did everything without success
They were advised to offer sacrifice
They complied
He who will become king in the future
Nobody can say for certain
Let the couple stop calling one another bad names
He who will be crowned king tomorrow
Nobody knows

If the Gangan drum sounds
Or if it fails to sound
And if Saworo ide, the small brass bells jingles when it hits the gound
These were Ifa's declarations to the 401 Irunmole
When going to  collect the Igba Iwa, Calabash of Existence in to the world
They were advised to offer sacrifice
These were Ifa's declarations to Ogun
When going to collect the Igba Iwa and take it into the world
He was advised to offer sacrifice
And also to Orunmila
When going to collect the Igba Iwa and take it into the world
He was advised to offer sacrifice
Only Orunmila offered sacrifice
Only Orunmila became the custodian of Igba Iwa
This does not concern Egungun
It does not concern Orisa
It does not concern Orisa
Nor does it concern Egungun
It is Eda, one's slave, that the matter concerns
It does not concern Orisa
Nor does it concern Egungun
It is one's Eleda that the matter concerns

Were the ones who divined for Sakoto
When he was going to Owa town
He was advised to sacrifice a pigeon, a sheep and three bean cakes
He heeded and the sacrificed
- Holy Odu OkanranMeji

The babalawos advised Sakoto to eat the bean cakes and not to give them to Esu. As he travelled, he met the first Esu but refused to give him the bean cakes. He met a second Esu, who stretched out his hands, asking for the bean cakes. But Sakoto ate another and kept walking. Sakoto met a third Esu and still refused to give him the bean cake. Enraged, Esu caused it to rain fiercely. The rain beat Sakoto mercilessly.  In Owa, the Oba had recently return to the rafters, that is the he returned to the ancestral realm. The bablawos had predicted that the new king would be a stranger, who would arrive drenched by the rain. And so, Sakoto became installed as the king of Owa.

Listen attentively, Orunmila, the Baba Agbonniregun
Remember "tribulation accounts for fetching blue dye water"
My beloved, "suffering accounts for grinding soaked corn"
And after grinding the soaked corn without end... WELL!
For one to go to the forest and fetch leaves... WELL!
And to break into a howl, like a wood cutter... WELL!
And kola nuts are what responsible people sell... WELL!
Remember that these were the messages of Ifa for me, Osunfunleyo, your wife... WELL!!!
When I was to follow you on Ifa business to a far, far away place
As far as the distance between the sun and the earth... WELL!
They advised us to sacrifice... WELL!!!
Remember that we did comply... WELL!
And now, they have marked the hut, filled with money and chalk... WELL!
Remember, my love, they marked that of expensive beads with camwood... WELL!
And that of the latest fashions with charcoal... WELL!
My comrade in Ifa devotion
I have just told you the contents therein... WELL!

The pebble was broken but it did not bleed
That was the Ifa  cast for ọwọ
Who would give birth to five children and profit from the five of them
He was advised to sacrifice
He complied
The children of ọwọ (hand) will not die while ọwọ is still alive
And the children of ese (foot) will not die before the foot
One's character cannot be spoilt
In the presence of the owner of character

Ones' Ori is ones' charm for all successes
If I wake up… I grab my head…
Ones' Ori is ones' charm for all successes
The mystical chain of Oduduwa
Comfort brings multiple wealth
Ori's Babalawo divined for Ori
When Ori was coming home from the spirit world to earth.
Ori was told to make ebo
Ori made the ebo.
Ori that comes to earth and fails to prosper
Osun, the adjudicator, I commend my Ori to you, Ifa, let me prosper.
Ori that comes to earth and fails in relationships (marriage, friendship, etc.)
Osun, the adjudicator, I commend my Ori to you, Ifa, let me prosper in relationships.
Ori that comes to earth and will not have children
Osun, the adjudicator, I commend my Ori to you Ifa, bless me with good children.
Ori that comes to earth and will not have gentle character,
Osun, the adjudicator, I commend my Ori to you, Ifa, let me have gentle character
Ori that comes to earth and will not have a home,
Osun, the adjudicator, I commend my Ori to you, Ifa, let me a home
Ori that comes to earth and will lack ire
Osun, the adjudicator, I commend my Ori to you
Ifa, bless me with all ire
