There comes a time when you are called to action! That is the moment you have been uniquely selected to fill with your natural gifts and talents. Each of us has a particular role to play, specific tools to utilize and a definitive group of people on our teams. For Africans in America who practice Orisa Lifestyle, that moment has officially arrived. The overt and repeated acts of wanton violence against our kinsmen are clear and undeniable indicators of the sudden call referenced in the verse above. That is, when we examine the unbridled and senseless crime and violence committed by against the African American community - by schools, police/court systems, gangs, and criminals alike - they all demonstrate the greatest opportunity for Orisa devotees to stand in defense of our Ancestral Promise.

Here, let me make a clear distinction between outrage and anger. Both are warranted and appropriate responses to the kind of repression we experience in the USA. But anger is blind and debilitating. It destroys more than it builds. Outrage protects your integrity. When your integrity has been compromised, or you experience other people's integrity being compromised, outrage is a natural response. Never allow anyone to muffle your outrage at blatant White supremacism in the American social, economic and political systems. Earth is a marketplace. Heaven is our home. What we do an earth will be revealed in heaven.

Destiny, however, is not a place any more than heaven is. Identity is destiny. Who are you? Are destined to eternal servitude or do you have dominion over your own life? It is not enough to talk about your beliefs and values. Anybody can talk! The question is, what are you going to DO? How will you make your lifestyle consistent with what you claim are your values? The way you answer these questions are the pathways to manifesting your destiny. Live the medicine!
