Today, we venerated Sango. The teachings emphasized the pivotal relationship between Sango and Orunmila. When Sango's goat was stolen, Ifa advised him to give the impression that he would retaliate but to refrain from acting out his threats. Sango complied, which enabled Èsù to activate the infallible word of Ifa. As a result, Sango was rewarded with enough to buy 6,000 goats. And so, he was praised as "he who sought his goat and became wealthy on the way. "
Sometimes, the strategy requires a ruse. The key is to play it in the right way, in the right place. It also requires three habits from each of us, who wish to experience improvement through the teachings of Ifa:
1. Discipline to follow directions
2. Self control to restrain the urge to act
3. Trust in the wisdom of Ifa
Those present know how Sango advised us to carry on. But it is my sincere prayer that everyone who reads these words will be enriched and improved by the teachings being offered. Ase!
